Cinquanta luoghi dislocati su tre percorsi (centro storico, borgo ottocentesco ed extramoenia) da scoprire e visitare, con l’aiuto di 400 studenti, per l’occasione guide turistiche, per conoscere la grande bellezza storica e culturale di Bitonto.
Cortili Aperti è una manifestazione, sotto l’Alto Patronato del Presidente della Repubblica e con il patrocinio del Ministero dei Beni e delle Attività Culturali e del Turismo, voluta ed organizzata dall’Associazione Dimore Storiche Italiane e dal Comune di Bitonto.
«Mi onora che la nostra città sia stata scelta, per il quarto anno di seguito, a rappresentare la Puglia assieme a Lecce per questa grande manifestazione – esprime tutta la sua soddisfazione il sindaco Michele Abbaticchio -. Stiamo mettendo in campo un grande lavoro di rivalutazione del centro storico e il prossimo weekend sarà una splendida occasione, una vetrina luminosa, per la nostra città per mostrare come ci hanno definiti tanti secoli di storia».
I cortili delle più importanti dimore storiche verranno aperti al pubblico il 21 e il 22 maggio (sabato dalle 18.00 alle 22.00 e domenica dalle 10.00 alle 13.00 e dalle 16.30 alle 22.00). Si darà la possibilità ai turisti di visitare luoghi che, in quanto privati, non sono sempre accessibili. Attenzione anche al pubblico straniero con le guide in lingua inglese, francese, spagnolo, tedesco, albanese, cinese e arabo, a cura degli studenti e della cooperativa ReArTù.
La ragion d’essere di questa manifestazione, come di tutta l’attività dell’A.D.S.I. trova fondamento nella «consapevolezza che per trasmettere il patrimonio alle generazioni future è indispensabile la tutela degli edifici e relativi giardini storici. Solo così si ottiene il risultato di non perdere la memoria del passato e dell’identità culturale del Paese», spiega il notaio Piero Consiglio, vice presidente e consigliere A.D.S.I. Puglia.
L’associazione, membro della Union of European Historic Houses Association, svolge il suo ruolo d’affidataria di beni privati d’interesse pubblico dal 1977 e «si prefigge anche la necessità di istruire i giovani, gli studenti, a tutelare e proteggere il loro inestimabile patrimonio», conclude Consiglio.
Cortili aperti, dunque, è una grande occasione per mostrare sotto la volta del cielo una città – museo: Bitonto è la città pugliese che apre il maggior numero di monumenti tra atri, cortili, giardini, musei, chiese e altri luoghi di particolare interesse artistico.
«È una grande occasione di valorizzazione e promozione della cultura in chiave turistica per la città di Bitonto – spiega l’assessore al Marketing Territoriale, Rino Mangini -. A maggio la città esprime il meglio di sé grazie a Cortili aperti, alla Festa patronale ed al corteo storico. Una città, quindi, ricca di cultura che prova a traguardare il periodo che stiamo vivendo grazie alle sue eccellenze storiche, artistiche e monumentali».
Per consentire a tutti d’inebriarsi d’arte in sicurezza, fondamentale sarà l’apporto degli uomini del comando della Polizia Municipale che, assieme alle associazioni di volontariato, presiederanno il territorio.
Il centro storico sarà inoltre chiuso al traffico. I turisti potranno parcheggiare la loro automobile nel Park & Ride di via Messeni o in piazza Ferdinando II di Borbone e raggiungere il centro con il bus navetta o in bici, grazie al bike sharing assicurato da Velbike.
Dalla centrale piazza Marconi partiranno invece le navette verso i luoghi dell’itinerario “extramoenia”.
Assicurato anche quest’anno il bus gratuito per i residenti nelle frazioni di Palombaio e Mariotto.
